Which golfers have had a hole-in-one at the Masters?

It’s a pretty cool thing to have on your CV. So, who has the honour of having had an ace on the grandest stage of all? Let’s take a look

masters hole in one

  • Every masters hole-in-one

Stewart Cink, the 2009 Open champion, made a hole-in-one on the 16th hole at the 2022 Masters.

This was the most recent ace made at the first major of the year at Augusta National. That is certainly one way of avoiding the treacherous, slopey greens of the famed Georgia course.

Cink became the 34th player to make an ace in tournament play at Augusta. The 16th hole is certainly one that has been penetrated the most times in the Masters’ history.

On the tournament’s final day, the cup is always cut at the bottom of the slope in the left portion of the green where balls funnel down and create excitement for the onlooking patrons.

This isn’t to say that each other par 3 at Augusta hasn’t seen hole-in-ones either. Below, we have noted every hole in one to be made at the Masters.

6th hole

Leland Gibson used a 4-iron to hole out on the 6th in 1954. Almost 70 years later, Corey Conners needed just an 8-iron.

1954: Leland Gibson, 190 yards, 4-iron
1954: Billy Joe Patton (a), 190 yards, 5-iron
1972: Charles Coody, 190 yards, 5-iron

masters hole in one

1959: William Hyndman (a), 155 yards, 6-iron
1988: Curtis Strange, 155 yards, 7-iron
